This review was collected as part of a promotion. A Good Substitute for a’Real’ Hot Tub. I cannot fit a’real’ hardbody hot tub (spa) into my basement – it will not fit through the doors. So I opted for a portable, inflatable one instead. I began doing this about 7 years ago and have found that these portables break down in a very short period of time. It is never the vinyl body – that is fine. It is the heater & filter. The heater often dies and sometimes the filter dies. But there are more reasons – a smaller hot tub is cheaper to heat and cheaper to chlorinate (less water). But know this – it takes almost 24 hours to heat it, so you have to decide a day ahead if you want to use it – that is annoying. Also, the disposable filters are usually very expensive – that is annoying. The filter is not very powerful too. Great for a relaxing evening. I use this product on my back patio when J need to relax, it always comes through! We use our spa every night and love it! It’s perfect to wind the day down! It seems to only have a’heat on’ rather than a thermostat control for the water temperature. Although there is an led temperature read out on the pump-heater. It takes a while to warm the water. I placed the hot tub outside, under a covered patio. It is on a wooden deck, however I did place padding material on top the wood deck before setting up the hot tub. I love the hot tub. It is perfect for 1 or 2 persons. I find myself sleeping better at night when I relax in the hot tub before bed. I’ve had the spa for a week. There are 2 kinds… Bubbler spa and jet spa. The jet spa has 4 jets that are positionable. They are located about a foot off the bottom. They hit between my shoulder blades when I float and place my feet in front of the jets on the other side. They jets only run for 30 minutes at a time so you don’t get overheated or fall asleep. I have the temp at 94 degrees. It feels so good that I usually run 2 30 minute cycles. During that time the time only goes down 1 or 2 degrees. You do sit on the bottom of the spa, but there is a bubble pad that goes under the spa and I folded the box in half that the spa came in and put that under the bubble pad. The water tends to lift you slightly off the bottom so you don’t feel the hard ground/concrete under the spa. The spa is very sturdy, but keep the patches in a safe place. The cover is a little difficult for one person to put in place without dunking it in the water. Make sure to thoroughly dry out cover periodically to prevent mold. The spa was easy to set up. The most complicated part was setting up the chemicals. I went to my local pool/spa store. These chemicals will probably last a year. I also had to order filters. I was told I would probably have to change the filters weekly for the first few weeks while the water stabilizes. The water did foam… The first couple of days. I found out this is because of residue on clothes and skin; solution is rinse off before going into spa. Very easy to put up and easy to use. For the price really good value. Fast and easy setup.
