This 2010 No-Fault PDR Titanium Heater is the newest factory upgrade replacement heater from the makers of Hot Springs spas. Its double-pass sleek design replaces all previously discontinued heater styles. The double-pass feature efficiently heats the water in two stages and oh what a perfect job it does! Now factory approved and warrantied for all 115 volt 1.5kW and 230 volt – 6kW installations for all 1995-now Hot Spring and Tiger River spa models. Your existing 3/4 vinyl tubing will attach to this heater with no worries. The thermistors have different thread sizes to insure they can’t accidentally be reversed when re-installing them into this new PDR heater. The also have different tips on the ends of the wire to insure they can’t accidentally be plugged into the wrong port on the IQ Control Box. In most applications, the heater is connected directly inside the spas control box. If your existing heater plugs in to the bottom of your control box, you may need the appropriate adapter. Note: If your existing heater has an additional wire plugged into the IQ2020 main board, you will need to either order the PDR heater with the built-in pressure switch (72795) or add a Flow Status Jumper (72768) to P34 on the main board. Complete GFCI Convertible Sub Panel, 50amp w/2-GFCI Breakers (Hot Spring & Tiger River) – CONVERTS a 115V SPA to 230V. This complete sub panel comes with two GFCI breakers, one 20amp 115volt (single pole single throw) and one 30amp 230volt (double pole double throw). This sub panel is used to CONVERT a 115volt/230volt convertible Hot Spring or Tiger River to 230volts (also referred to as 220). All Hot Spring and Tiger River spas, manufactured after 1996 have an IQ control box and can be converted to 230 volts. If you’re converting your spa to a 230 volt installation, then the power cord is removed and the spa is hard wired. The wiring diagram for your spa model is on the backside of the IQ control box front cover. Converting your spa to a 220 volt installation should be done by a qualified electrician and done to code even if you don’t pull a permit. A 230volt powered Hot Spring or Tiger River spa will heat about 8 degrees an hour (versus 2 degrees an hour) and the heater will stay on during the operation of the jet pump. Because all Hot Springs and Tiger River spas are so well insulated, typically there is not a need to convert them to 230volts. If your spa is used for entertaining with the jet pump running hours at a time, or your spa is located in a freezing and windy climate, then a 230 volt installation is preferred.
