By hiho on January 26, 2016. It is on 24/7. I bought a “shed in a box” from Home Depot (7x7x7) and the spa fits inside perfectly, keeping snow, leaves and other dirt and debris off the spa. I hooked up pulleys to the upper pole on the shed so I can lift one side of the spa cover when the spa is in use so I don’t have to completely remove it. I can easily get in and out with the cover lifted to about a 60 degree angle. As others have mentioned, the temperature drops when the bubbles are on, more rapidly at low ambient temps. If you limit the use to 10-15 min, the spa temp remains ok but don’t expect do soak for hours with the bubbles on. With the bubbles off and the cover on, the spa can hold 104 F even at zero air temp. The shed may provide some added heat retention; it also keeps the wind out. The “door” of the shed is a zippered flap which can be rolled up so there is a complete open view when the spa is in use. Solves the mosquito problem and keeps the unit cleaner. You also feel like you’re in a screen in porch instead of sitting out in the open. Water says cleaner also. Everything you need, except the water hose, is included and directions were simple. I ran the spa for 12 hours a day. I would turn it on in the morning as I left for work, then enjoyed it in the early evening and turned it back off. On weekends I left it on and went in several times a day. I used the spa daily for 2 months. When the night temps stayed in the 40′s or below, the spa had trouble warming up to 102, so I emptied it and propped it up in the carport. I plan to fill it again in March and use for 2-3 months this spring (until I open my Intex pool-which will use the same electric connection).
